How to Become a Private Investigator

Witout fail at least once a week someone will ask me. "How can I become a PI?"
The answer is not so simple because each state has it's own unique licensing policies. In fact some states require no license at all. While other states require a test, background check, apprenticeship under a lic PI and some college.
I plan to write an Ebook outlining a step by step plan to get fully licinced and up and running as a PI. I'm going to use this blog to outline the steps then put them all into the book.

Chapter 1 State Licencing Requirements
Alabama
There is no P.I. licensing requirement in Alabama, although some cities, such as Birmingham and Mobile, have their own, and a state business license is required to operate any business in Alabama.
